Required Lab Monitoring
🔬 Before Starting PrEP
📅 Every 3 Months (Follow-Up)
Lab results can be completed at a local lab of your choice. Results are reviewed with you directly during your follow-up telehealth visit.
Did you know? Many insurance plans cover PrEP at no cost. For uninsured or underinsured patients, Gilead's Advancing Access® program may cover the full medication cost. I'll guide you through every step of the process.
DoxyPEP (doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis) is a single 200mg dose of doxycycline taken within 72 hours after condomless sex. Based on CDC 2024 clinical guidelines, it reduces the risk of syphilis and chlamydia by up to 70% and gonorrhea by up to 50%.
Take within 72 hours — ideally within 24 hours after exposure for maximum effectiveness.
One dose = 200mg — maximum one dose per 24-hour period, regardless of number of exposures.
Keep it on hand — prescription written in advance so you have it ready when you need it.
Follow-up every 3–6 months — STI and HIV screening, prescription renewal, and reassessment of ongoing need.
Often paired with PrEP — DoxyPEP and PrEP work together as a comprehensive sexual health prevention strategy.
Tips for taking: Take with 8 oz of water, avoid lying down for 1 hour, avoid dairy or calcium supplements within 2 hours, and use sunscreen as doxycycline may increase sun sensitivity.
